2006 High School Champ Aaron Hagen Gets Back to Victory Lane

Aaron Hagen, Gateway’s 2006 High School Points Champion, did not win a round in the first two races, but he went the distance Tuesday night. This was the third points race of the year, and Hagen was driving his third different car. He pounded opponents off of the starting line all night, as he had a .056 starting line advantage in the final which lead to a hole-shot victory over Dan Harris.

Harris, winner of last weeks High School Points Race and current point leader, was a tough competitor for the majority of the night. In round two, Harris had a slim .008 starting line advantage over the first event winner, Aaron Worstell, but Harris didn’t give Worstell any room as he ran a 14.675 on a 14.67 dial.
Shannon Beimfohr, Gateway’s 2006 Jr. Dragster Champion, had a solid first showing as she got faced up with Drew Skyles first round, who was runner-up in last weeks event. Shannon had a big starting line advantage and Skyles couldn’t run her down as she went on to a hole-shot win. She was defeated by eventual event champion Aaron Hagen in the semi-final round, as they both cut respectable lights but Hagen was able to run closer to the number.
With the win, Aaron Hagen jumps all the way to 2nd place in Gateway’s High School Point Standings and with the runner-up finish, Dan Harris continues to lead all other competitors by a 35 point margin.
